Itineraries For The Adventure Seekers
ESCAPE PLAN 1
Where Wild Meets Wonder
8 nights of adventure safari await in Zimbabwe and South Africa, at a price and opportunity of activities that will delight the pickiest adrenaline seeker.
Days 1 to 3
You will be collected from the Victoria Falls Airport and transferred to the Stanley & Livingstone Game Reserve. Here you will spend the next two nights on a Bed & Breakfast basis, surrounded by the tranquility of a private natural reserve, primely located 15 minutes from Victoria Falls. From here you are free to relax, wine and dine, and explore Victoria Falls, with transfers to town and back each day included in your stay. You will also experience a guided tour of the Falls and a sundowner cruise on the mighty Zambezi.
Days 3 to 6
A short scenic flight takes you to Hwange National Park, followed by a game drive into Hwange Bush Camp for the next 3 nights on a Fully Inclusive basis. The Robins area of Hwange offers guests scenic diversity with huge open grasslands, natural springs and water points – and best of all, you will have the area pretty much to yourself. Activities are very fluid and consist of a mix between game drives, walks and spending time at game watering holes. Whatever you see, your guide will assist by providing a fountain of information and make the outdoors come alive with his explanations and interpretations of the environment you are in. In camp a three course dinner awaits and then there is time to relax around the campfire, a great place for tales from your guide. You’ll also get some insight into the constellations that sparkle above us.
Days 6 to 9
Following your wilderness experience in Hwange, you’ll catch a short flight back to Victoria Falls in order to get on a regional flight to Johannesbrug in South Africa where you will be greeted and transferred to Ants Nest in the Waterberg region. Lying in a natural amphitheater the original homestead, with its wide verandahs, has a classic, relaxed, African atmosphere. A wide variety of game frequents the waterhole in front of the bush home bringing game viewing to your doorstep. You will be staying here for 3 nights on a Fully Inclusive basis, including all meals, all local drinks (soft drinks, spirits, beers and house wines), horse riding, game drives and night drives, game walks, mountain biking, bush lunches and sundowners.
Cost
from $4510 per person for 8 nights and 9 days
ESCAPE PLAN 2
The Ultimate Explorer
Go where few have gone before on this epic adventure of 11 nights throughout the pristine wilderness areas of Botswana and Zimbabwe where thrilling activities abound.
Days 1 to 4
Starting from Maun International Airport, you will catch a short flight to the luxurious Jack’s Camp. This is an extremely unusual desert safari experience focusing on the vast emptiness of Botswana’s Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, walking with San Bushmen and spending time with a clan of habituated, yet wild meerkats. You will spend the next 3 nights on a Fully Inclusive basis. Also included are a spa treatment and two hour horse riding activity, and there are many daily activities to enjoy. Some of these include getting up close and personal with the meerkats, taking a visit to the 5000+ old year Baobab tree, participating in a rapidly disappearing Bushmen ritual, or visiting a remote cattle post to learn about the traditional culture of the Botswana people.
Days 4 to 7
Catch a short flight to Selinda where you will be spending the next 3 night at Selinda Explorer’s on a Fully Inclusive basis. This will include early morning and early evening game activities to suit, including guided walking safaris, canoeing trips and game drives in open 4×4 vehicles. This area is a wildlife hotspot which is home to huge herds of elephant and buffalo. It is here that lion, wild dog, sable and roan antelope are all spotted on a regular basis. And because of the Camp’s focus on walking, you will be seeing the small, incredibly interesting things often missed on vehicles. An adventurous experience in every way.
Days 7 to 9
Next on your journey is Victoria Falls where you’ll stay for 2 nights Fully Inclusive at the Vic Falls Safari Club, a boutique hotel overlooking the Zambezi National Park. A complimentary shuttle bus service transports guests to the Victoria Falls Rainforest and town centre (village market and Victoria Falls) on an hourly basis throughout the day. There are plenty of activities on-hand in Victoria Falls for you to choose from.
Days 9 to 12
Upon checking out of Vic Falls Safari Club, you will be headed to Chilo Gorge for the last 3 nights of your adventure, a luxury safari lodge on the edge of Gonarezhou. Any journey into the heart of Gonarezhou begins with the realisation that this is wild country. It is one of Africa’s last remaining pristine wildernesses and we are all privileged to be a visitor here. The animals are in their most natural state at Gonarezhou; these are no lazy photographic models, hassled by a constant cavalcade of jeeps, radioing one another in their relentless pursuits. This is a country of red sandstone, thorny scrub and baobabs. Buffalo gather at watering holes, big cats prowl silently in pursuit of painted impala, hippo wallow midstream attended by squadrons of fluttering birds. The presence of elephants is everywhere; on the earth and the vegetation, as their families travel along routes passed from one matriarch to another in search of food, safety, and water. After this experience, you will fly to Harare International Airport with this African adventure ingrained in your heart and soul forever.
Cost
from $11,930 per person for 11 nights and 12 days
