ZAMBIA’S
LIVINGSTONE
The town of Livingstone is located in southwestern Zambia, close to the border with Zimbabwe, and only a few kilometres away from the Victoria Falls. It is Zambia’s second biggest urban area, after Lusaka, and is named after Scottish missionary explorer, David Livingstone, who is credited as being the first westerner to discover Victoria Falls in the 19th century. Due to its proximity to Victoria Falls, a visit to Livingstone has become a famed tourist destination and has a modern international airport plus a large number of luxury accommodation venues in or around the town, but particularly along the picturesque shores of the Zambezi river.
