ZAMBIA’S
SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK
Variety of seasons, scenery and intense concentration of wildlife, make South Luangwa Safaris one of the best experiences in Zambia, if not Africa. South Luangwa National Park holds one of the greatest wildlife densities, where impala, waterbuck, giraffe and buffalo roam the vast spaces, large numbers of leopard stalk the dense brush, elephant wade through thick marsh, and where over 400 species of bird have been recorded.
South Luangwa National Park is where the famous ‘walking safari’ originated and offers fantastic 4-wheel drive safaris, which provide a chance to spot several species endemic to this area, such as Thornicroft’s giraffe, Cookson’s wildebeest and Crawshay’s zebra, along the Luangwa River, the most intact major river system in Africa.
